a special concept of care designed to provide comfort and
support to patients and their families when a life-limiting
illness no longer responds to cure-oriented treatments. Most
Hospice patients remain in their own home if adequate and
appropriate care is possible. Hospice has a
multi-disciplinary approach to care and provides physical,
emotional and spiritual care to the patient along with
support to the family/caregiver.
The Friends of Hospice Serenity House is a resource for hospice patients when care in their own home is no longer an option. It is an alternative to institutionalized care where patients will receive personal care in a home-like environment.
